I went back to see "The Departed" again. It's even better the second time around. What a terrific film. I saw some things I missed the first time because the movie speeds by. The first time I saw it, I was on the edge of my seat from first scene to last. I didn't feel that frenetic energy the second time, but that is not a loss. It's a film that is rich enough to be seen multiple times. DiCaprio is even better on second viewing, and frankly, there isn't a bad actor in the bunch. Matt Damon was great, and Alec Baldwin is my new favorite middle-aged character actor and I love to see him poke fun at himself. His repartee with Marc Wahlburg, in particular, is hilarious. Every character actor in the ensemble, no matter how small the role, adds something special.
If you haven't seen "The Departed" yet don't let it pass you by.
Reading is freedom.
The mind soars, no earthly cares,
no limitations.

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.
