But it's better than the WHITE cover! That one isn't dark and brooding at all. The castle is cool, but ....... WHITE????

Not to mention that it bears no resemblence to the Keep as described in the novel.

My "also," was agreement with your judgement that you liked the original Jove paperback cover best. Because so do I. I just think that if it had "crosses" like those shown inside the book, it would be perfect.

Have you also seen the new cover of The Tomb?

The marketing sure worked on me! I saw it in Borders the other day and had to buy the "author's definitive edition". Plus, I love the not-quite-sillhouette of Jack on this one. That Gia is a lucky woman!

I like the font on the new cover, and the Nazi symbol in the background. The "Keep" tower sorta looks like a lighthouse, though.

I agree, it's much better than the white cover!

Not until just now . . . no.

As much as I like the original cover, I like this one just as well.

I think this is the best silhouette yet. As good as the other one was, it always looked to me as though Jack was carrying a suitcase, which somehow didn't look right. Probably because his silhouette looked triangular.

You know, I was looking so closely at the background of the new cover, I didn't notice the title font. But now that you mention it, I like it too. Gives it a Germanic look which, aside from the aesthetics, fits with the theme and the Swastika.

It was a nice cover -- as far as the artwork is concerned -- but it just didn't fit the story.

I'll have to examine the new silhouette up close, because it doesn't look quite silhouette-ish. Maybe it's just a matter of getting used to.

As for the "Author's Definitive Edition" .... Is this the paperback version of Rakoshi ? All these editions are just too confusing; I can't keep track.

Yes. They used the Borderlands .pdf of the Rakoshi revised text to recomposite this edition, so they're exact. (Even I get confused after a while.)

I definitely like this a lot. Much more than the "white" cover, but it just misses that atmospheric (and literal) touch that the original Jove version had.

Not to mention I miss the "A NOVEL OF DEEP HORROR" slogan placed over the barred doorway in the bottom of the tower on that version. Honestly, I think that that was one of the best (and least-cheesy) slogans associated with horror to date.
