P.S. Remember when James Kirk had a son and the Trekkers had a tantrum: That's right, bye-bye, baby! Hmmmmm.
P.P.S. I don't mind when the Superman mythos is updated, but don't change it completely: Didn't they call those "imaginary tales" in the comic book world? There was the "real" world of Superman, and then there was the "imaginary" world where Superman could marry and have kids.
Mike Hanson Wrote:** POTENTIAL SPOILERS **
Jimmy has apparently discovered the fountain of youth and remains
eternally early-20's, Perry White has been stripped of his
over-the-top larger-than-life bombastic appeal and left with
an all too real world-weary cynical stare, and Clark Kent, the
simple-natured, awkward, bumbling introvert has suddenly
become slightly hip and normal.
What the hell happened to our beloved characters?
The effects are great, the super-hero conflict is really just a
retread of Superman I, the new actor is fine as supes but not
so electric as Clark, Kryptonite has a very inconsistent lethality
throughout the third act, and Kryptonian spacecraft are
apparently as awkward and defect-laden as the U.S. Space Shuttle.
Ultimately I recommend seeing it on the big screen if it
is still playing near you. It is a real visual achievement
and a fun way to kill a couple of hours.
