No, but there are midichlorians ...... Wink

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

You're scaring me, Paul! Especially since I know that I don't have the self-control to let a revision of one of my favorite books sit untouched on a shelf for that long.

Nope. Not going to happen.

Is your comment mostly for people who haven't read Nightworld yet, or do you have some scary things in store for us non-Nightworld virgins as well?

What to do? What to do?! I did read Harbingers - is that enough to avoid the worst anxiety? I don't have time to learn patience.....

Darn it, I guess I'm at the end of the BP shipping list, since my number is in the 400's. Fortunately, I have the latest Vernor Vinge novel to console me for a bit, though it's not set in his "Zones of Thought" universe. (Oh, I wish he were HALF as prolific as FPW! Six or seven years between novels is waaaayy too long.)

Speaking for myself, I'd say yes. (Your mileage may vary. FPW's advice is the best for those with the willpower.) But it's pretty clear there are some missing pieces yet to be filled in, and at least one item that was removed from the old version that I suspect is being moved to an upcoming book.

Maybe it's time to start a spoiler thread?

I ordered my special edition of Nightworld from Shocklines and haven't been charged for it yet. Did anyone else order from there?

Thanks!

Yeah, I ordered mine from there. I'm not holding my breath though - living in Sunny England means I'm pretty much always the last to get a copy... sniff...!Sad
