I just re-watched "Almost Famous" the other day. I had forgotten how good Hoffman was as rock critic Lester Bangs. They had a short clip of the real Bangs speaking and Hoffman really captured him.

I love Hoffman. I don't think he's ever produced a false note in any of his films. Try "Happiness." He's astounding and the film is awesome in a morally creepy way. It's like watching a train wreck. You want to turn away but you can't.
