These days, Hollywood is getting into remake the movies of '70s. Do you think this is good or bad? We want to see remake? I have little curiosity. But I don't think those remake films are great. I also won't see them in a theater. I'll wait rental DVDs. I loved '70s movies. '70s, '80s, '90s, and 21st century....I like each era's different taste.

Do you think they need remake past glory? Check them out.

Didn't that guy on the poster die???? How are they going to do a proper re-envision without him? One of the most recognizable faces in movies and I don't know his name.

I wouldn't mind seeing a modernized version of The 5 Deadly Venoms. Could make for a good movie.

That's the funny part about remakes Kenji. They remake good movies and invariably do a poor job of it.

Now, if they made better versions of marginal movies I could understand it.

What this represents to me is lack of imagination. Instead of looking for something new, they try to capitalize on someone else's past success.

There are a lot (ahem) of really great stories that are crying to be made into movies.

Hmmm...well jeez, Ken, even when we cross swords, I do believe each knows what the other is getting at. But "really great stories that are crying to be made into movies" Dear me...might you have, oh , A DAY IN THE LIFE or THE LONG WAY HOME in mind? Wink

Vincent Schiavelli died in December, 2005, and he had a very distinctive face. He was the subway ghost in "Ghost." But I don't think he was in "The Hills Have Eyes." The person on the poster for THHE is even more distinctive looking the Schiavelli, if possible.

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.
You may quote me.

I enjoyed the remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre, but for different reasons than I liked the original.

Actually a good point. They Are only remaking movies that have done well. It pretty much makes for a sure fired hit. Somewhere I've heard Hollywood and the music biz is low on ideas, could it be true? If so, they don't know Jack yet!
