Fourth thing - sorry for bringing up this dusty thread again. Hopefully, it'll rest from now on peacefully.

The wireless energy transfer is more science fiction than supernatural. It is based on Tesla's experiments and in fact works, but has limited practicality. Spys use this method to recharge batteries in listening devices via microwaves, for example.

But wasn't Tesla's Tower able to collect energy for use? Basicly, set one up in your backyard and it would provide all the energy your household needed by collecting it through the air?Tesla's tower was to broadcast electrical energy and radio transmissions around the world. His told his financial backers that his plan was to erect another tower in Paris to receive radio transmissions. His real plan was to use the Niagra Falls generating plant as the source of electricity to saturate the atmosphere. Anyone could pick up that energy with a simple receiving device. When his financial backer (J. P. Morgan) realized this, he pulled his funding (didn't want to give energy away) and Tesla went broke.

I was awed by it then, and when I read about it in Jack's realm it made it even more real. Very powereful and Frankenstein-esque(?sic)Sometimes Jack's realm overlaps ours. The Tesla site is being cleaned up (chemicals from photo processing contaminate the ground), and a recent newspaper reported that some problems are delaying the work. They found a conical-shaped pit, at least 150 feet deep, under where the tower was located. The pit has lots of debris in it and is "lined with some unusual kind of concrete". They haven't found any reporters... yet.

There are some neat pictures there, and you can read about Tesla and get some appreciation of his genius. But, he was a bad businessman.

I feel that the supernatural and the "otherness" is an absolutely essential part of the RJ universe. On the other hand it would be excellent reading about some early fix it jobs, however, it should be pretty obvious that Jack has been watched and "groomed" for some time so it seems to me to be unlikely that he would be altogether free of supernatural elements ever, including when he was younger etc... Just my opinion but it seems logical.Wow! I think you just opened my eyes! What if the other - otherness (the supposed good force) used that kid on the bridge to throw a brick and kill Jack's mom forcing him into a spiral toward his RJ'ness. And, what if Jack found this out? Boy would he be PISSED! Rosolam could unveil this devious plot to Jack in Nightworld. Then, Jack would be faced with saving the world and accepting that his mother was killed fr this silly game of chess. Or, let the world die, just to spite the other - otherness!

But, I still maintain that it is premature to blame either the Otherness or the Ally (the "other otherness" ) as the source of Jack's problems. The Lady is still a leading candidate, in my book, and she could easily have been aware of Jack's potential long before either of the other forces became aware of him, which was probably long after his mother's death.
