Anyone get a screenshot of the diagram on the wall?

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

I didn't see last night's episode, but I want to point out something extremely obvious I don't know if anyone else has mentioned. Everyone on the island was being manipulated well before crashing on the island. So far, I still haven't seen anything to destroy my theory that those people were needed specifically to repopulate the earth. I think the island is the safety zone and the rest of earth is 'quarantined'. All these goings on in part, are a distraction from what is currently going on in the rest of the world. I think either no one is dead because of the recuperative effects of the island (perhaps this quality purified them of whatever disease has ravaged the planet). I suspect they will dig up Boone's grave on a lark and find it empty as well as every other person who has 'died'. Remember Jack's father walking around in the first season? I don't think it was his imagination. I think the Others are the people who 'died' on the island and been restored by whatever the experiment is that has gone awry. This experiment reached out and found the people it needed/wanted and manipulated them until they were all on that plane together.

Well, the preview for next week may allude to part of what you are referring to, but last night's episode disproved (?) one of your theories as well.

Trying to figure out what is on that picture is hard. We need someone with a HiDef Big Screen TV. LOL Big Grin

The bubble near the bottom reads "I AM HERE." I also think I see the word "ACCIDENT" below and to the right of that. There are also multiple "C V" followed by a Roman Numeral: "C V I" - "C V II" - "C V III"

At first I thought that the images matched the hieroglyphs on the countdown timer (Click Here), but they don't seem to match. I'm thinking maybe it is a map of the island and those are individual bunkers; the bottom one being the main one with the computer and timer, shower, pantry, etc.

Excellent episode last night! A few ideas that I have been throwing around.
*A first look at the grid under black light reminded me of a "Disney" like grid, you know different lands. A longer look shows the main bunker and other explored areas. The areas in green appear to me as possibly un-reachable by hatches or stairs. But further study is needed of all the notes written around the grid.
*As to the others, remember a few episodes back when Jack and Claire stumbled into the med facility? There were lockers with old clothes, shoes and beards: as in disguises. Why didn't this get told to the survivors? Everyone is scared of them as some type of cannibal group. Just what are they immunizing against? How come only the baby is the only one to get even mildly sick. Gerald Rices' ideas seem a possibility.
*I had also wondered how all that food in the pantry had stayed fresh if the original hatch inhabitant had been there for years. Bingo! Last nights food drop, complete with beacon to lead them to it. And our original hatch man, where is he now? With the others? Flown in a Balloon off to a neighboring island?
*And what about Walt and Michael? Their psychic ability was what caused them to be taken, right? Are the rest of the survivors special as well in some way?

AND last but not LEAST..........Thanks! FPW for taking that photo of the grid!

I hope this doesn't post twice, if it does..blame the "puter" @ work! I know, shouldn't be doing that anyway.

Wow. Thanks, Paul. That's a pretty daunting map.
I thought this week's episode was EXCELLENT. I was on the edge of my seat. When Sayid got up in the "other" guy's face and told him he'd found the real Henry Gale buried in the grave, I almost died!

And is Locke a fabulous character or what?

OMG! I think you're right! I'm going to need a week's worth of Valium just to make it until next Wednesday.
