Scott Miller Wrote:Years ago I read Cruel Shoes and I would love to read it again as I think I was too young to appreciate it at the time. I enjoyed Shopgirl, not great, but worth the read. I am picking up Pure Drivel and The Pleasure of My Company this afternoon from the library.
I've recently unloaded about 10 huge shopping bags of books. Gave 'em to Ronald McDonald House. But I couldn't part with "Pure Drivel."
Needless to say, none of FPW's books will ever leave my bookcase, except to loan extras to friends who never seem to want to return them.
Reading is freedom.
The mind soars, no earthly cares,
no limitations.

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.
