I think Ken Watanabe was awesome in "The Last Samurai", so will be interesting to see him in the new Batman movie. What/Who is the villian he is playing?

Not sure what to expect with the new Batman. The really dark Tim Burton Batman or the horribly crappy campy Batmans that followed and damn near killed Batman as a franchise?

I know that in the early 90's Marvel did a series called "Nightstalkers" or "Darkstalkers" in which Blade was the maverick character of a monster fighting trio. The other 2 characters were the aforementioned Hannibal and Drake. Hannibal became half-zombie or something, and Drake was the son of Dracula, but noone knew it--not even Blade.

Drake is going to be in Blade III. He's played by that guy who was John Doe on Fox. I don't know about Hannibal, though. I think so. I looked it up on imdb last week.

Watanabe is playing Raz al Ghoul (however you spell it). The guy who played Jim in 28 Days Later is playing Scarecrow. I think this Batman is going to be somewhere around as dark as the Burton ones. The guy who wrote the screenplay wrote and directed Blade III.

Two villains, though. That is one of the faults of the latter Batman movies: they tried to cram them with characters and couldn't focus on any one.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Raz al Ghoul? Is he comic character? or original character? I know many villains in Batman, but I've never heard before.

From an early review on Aint-it-cool, the reviewer made it sound like there's a guy and a girl that will take up the torch.

So perhaps they've added a character, or changed a character's gender.

Maybe now it'll be "Hannibelle".

Man, I crack myself up.

Throughout our history there are those ghosts
Compelled to illustrate our dreams and hopes
Victors hang in pictures, losers from ropes.
Regardless they all swing in the same boat.

Counting the number of villains in a comic is like trying to count the number of irrational numbers between zero and one. To put it bluntly, there are A LOT. Not having read the Batman comics (well, very few), my favorite would have to be Bane (besides Joker and the other "classics"), and they totally screwed up his character in the movies.

Yes, Kenji. He's one of Batman's tougher nemesises. Up there with the Joker. If you were a fan of the 90s cartoon series you would have seen him occasionally.

The new Superman movie starts filming soon here in Australia. Bryan Singer is directing. Here is a link to newspaper article.
