I know we're talking graphic novels here, but I've been in many a book store in NYC, including the esteemed Barnes & Noble, where the manager had never heard of FPW. Of course, I'm not referring to the B&N where Bluesman Mike works; he makes sure there's at least a few copies of FPW's books always available.

But it is disheartening that so few book store managers know of F. Paul Wilson.

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

Browsed through the 1st issue of "The Keep" a couple weeks ago at the comic shop.
First thing that jumped out at me was the lack of color in the illustrations. It wasn't black and white, but it might as well have been. Anybody but me let down by this?
I'm guessing this book was about $3.99. Guess I'll wait for the graphic novel compilation and hope for an upgrade in presentation.

I was initially, but upon my subsequent readings I find it quite effective for the story which I tend to think of in black and white terms.

I've ranted about this before too. Paul's books, etc. should be as available as those of King, Koontz, and a plethora of other writers. Still have no idea why they aren't.

I was surprised by the black and white presentation as well. Glaeken's coloring is lost upon anyone who has not read the book. Plus, there is not much text either. So it does help that I have read the book. I just know who is who that way. If I were introduced to the story this way...I would have a tough time telling the characters apart. But then, when I read the story the first time...I was not sure if Glaeken was a good guy or not when he first came into the story.
When do we get Issue #2 ???

I was wondering that too. IDW still has an October publishing date.

I'm picking up #1 today after work. The comic book shop I called only has one left, so I'm glad I didn't put it off. I was thinking of asking FPW to sign it for me at the convention this weekend Wink . I can't wait to see it!

I've got my order in with Forbidden Planet for #1 and pre-ordered #2 & #3. The order acknowledgement says Part 1 is due in November.
Pity us poor Brits, we have to wait ages to see anything.
