Robert Wise, who won four Oscars as producer and director of the classic 1960s musicals "West Side Story" and "The Sound of Music," has died. He was 91.

He made a lot of wonderful films. "The Curse of the Cat People", "Day the Earth stood still", "The Haunting", "The Andromeda Strain", "Audrey Rose", and "Star Trek: The Motion Picture"........etc.

RIP. Sad

What's your favorite in his movies? If I choose one, I'll pick "Day the Earth stood still".

My favorite was The Body Snatcher, by far!! It was my favorite Karloff performance. While I liked Frankenstein better, I like to hear Karloff's amazingly haunting voice. The Body Snatcher offers some fantastic Karloff dialogue and touches on some terrific tales of old. Also I find myself thinking, "You'll never get rid of me. never get rid of me. never get rid of me. TODDY!!!", for days after watching The Body Snatcher. What a great film!!!

Without a doubt, "The Haunting," ranks up there as one of the scariest movies I've ever seen.

That would be the 1963 version, not the awful 1999 version - ugh!

no limitations.

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.
You may quote me.
