Gerald Rice Wrote:This started off as a very tight thriller. Ever since Passenger 57 I thought thrillers on planes were a dud. But this one is actually interesting. Rachel McAdams is pretty good, making you believe her character is really struggling with the dilemma she's in and Cillian Murphy is the all-business bad guy instead of some insane nut. The story begins to unravel once they get off the plane, devolving into another on-the-run movie where bad guy chases good guy, but the first half definitely makes the whole experience worth it. I give it a B-.
If it was anyone other than Wes Craven, I'd agree and give it a B-. But, he pulled off some surprises and startling moments. So, I give it an A-.
The whole part on the plane could've been in a train, bus, etc. The movie didn't hang on the fact that it had to be a plane movie.
