Mary and I have widely divergent movie tastes, but we watched these together.

The Wedding Crashers: formulaic Hollywood script structure but saved by Vince Vaughn. Very funny.

Hitch: (FF=2) Another script that follows the Hollywood formula, but well-done formula with an engaging cast.

Coach Carter: (FF=0) Supposedly based on a true story. Another Cinderella-team tale a la Hoosiers, but grittier. Samuel Jackson and a great cast of kids kept my finger off the FF button.

I also saw Wedding Crashers over the weekend and found it to be hilarious.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

I thought Hitch was very boring. David and I couldn't wait for it to end and it wasn't that funny. I like Will Smith and was very disappointed. I enjoyed Coach Carter, but watched it after a very long day and fell asleep. It took 2 weeks of nagging to get David to tell me how it ended!

Sounds good. "Hoosiers" is my favorite one. I'll check "Coach Carter". Thanks for recommendation.

I'm curious what Mary thinks of your FF button, do you give her control at any point?

I also saw Wedding Crashers at the weekend. Some great moments in it, and Isla Fisher does the greatest Geri Halliwell impression. "I'wl fwind ywou."

No wonder she doesn't watch many movies with you. Wink And you thought it was divergent tastes. :p
