Hey Guys,
Would I miss anything important in Conspiracies if I skipped to All the Rage?
I've got it in my hands and soooo want to start reading it, but -- I will wait and pick up Conspiracies first if the greater wisdom suggests it.

You probably could skip to ATR, but I would wait until after reading Conspiracies.

You could...

But I wouldn't suggest it.

A while back I was given the first four RJ books together (after The Tomb) and I got the order wrong. So I actually read ATR before Conspiracies, and I still loved them both.

However, when I read them a second-time, I read them in the right order, and I really do think it makes a difference. If you can.....wait.

Nope, you can read Conspiracies after All The Rage. Those two really don't matter. You should however read Legacies before All The Rage, and Hosts, Haunted Air, Gateways, and Crisscross should be read in order. Especially Gateways and Crisscross.

I say, go for it.

can I ask why you want to skip it? Legacies and Conspiries have at least one neat tie-in.

I didn't want to skip it, I just was going to read it out of order, because I've got ATR on my bookshelf now. Anyway I think I'll get a copy of Conspiracies first. Thanks for all the input!

You mentioned your bad memory in an earlier post. Well, I guess this is an example of mine . . . I don't remember the tie-in. I do however remember the tie-in between Legacies and All The Rage.

I guess I'll have to read Conspiracies again . . . not exactly "punishment." Big Grin

haha. I'd love to tell you but I don't want to ruin it for him above. Um..let's see.._____ from conspiracies happens to know ______ from legacies. I hope that helps. I also hope I'm not wrong.

I was looking at the chronology, because at some point in the not too distant future, I am planning on reading (or re-reading, as the case may be) all of the Adversary cycle and RJ books in the correct chronological order and one right after the other (am I nuts? Yes, but that's beside the point...). Wink

When I was looking through the chronology, I noticed three stories that I haven't read yet ("Dat Tay Vao," "The Wringer," and "The Long Way Home"). I purchased a copy of SOFT from abebooks, and I was wondering if these stories are in that collection?

Now, I have to find a copy of SIBS...

Woo hoo! I hit the jackpot: I found SIBS, THE TERY, and NIGHTKILL.

Also, to comment on jumping over CONSPIRACIES: having just finished ALL THE RAGE, I can say that ATR mentions at least one event that occurred in CONSPIRACIES. So, take it as you will. They are both excellent, by the way.
