FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
16 June 2005

Infrapress is pleased to announce it will publish F. Paul Wilson's classic SF novel WHEELS WITHIN WHEELS. The edition will include stories "Higher Centers" and "The Man with the Anteater" as well as a new introduction by the author. This means Infrapress will now be issuing all the LaNague Federation fiction (three core novels and all the short stories) together, in three volumes, for the first time. Previously scheduled re-publication of the first and third novels -- AN ENEMY OF THE STATE and HEALER (each with related short stories) -- of the LaNague Federation series will be slightly delayed in order to issue all three books at the same time. These are the definitive versions as revised by the author.

WHEELS WITHIN WHEELS, Wilson's second novel, won the first Prometheus Award for Libertarian fiction in 1979. The award helped pigeonhole the author as "that Libertarian science fiction writer" and Wilson consequently dropped out of SF and wrote horror thriller (and beginning of the Repairman Jack franchise) THE KEEP (1981). In 2004, after more than two decades of publishing horror, adventure, medical thrillers, and virtually everything in between, Wilson no longer needed to be concerned about labels and was again honored with the Prometheus Award for SIMS.

"Higher Centers" (published in "Analog Science Fiction/Science Fact", April 1971) and "The Man with the Anteater" ("Analog", July 1971) were Wilson's first two published stories. The have never been reprinted

The Infrapress edition of HEALER includes short story "To Fill the Sea and Air"; shorts "Lipidleggin'" and "Ratman" are reprinted in AN ENEMY OF THE STATE. Both books include an introduction by the author.

HEALER and AN ENEMY OF THE STATE had been scheduled for July 2005 release. They will now be delayed until fall in order to issue all three volumes at the same time. Covers for the previously announced books can be seen on the Infrapress Web site (http://www.writers.com/publishing or http://www.infrapress.com) WHEELS WITHIN WHEELS will have a similar look. All three will be 6"X 9" trade paperbacks.

That is awesome! Though I just bought a HC version of WWW off ebay. Oh Well!! I am currently reading The LaNaque Chronicles and am in near the beginning of WWW. I like the way it was rearranged into chronological order. Was there a reason you didn't compile these for the new release? Have you thought of including some kind of timeline?

How do we order these? Is there an Infrapress website to order from or do we just go to a standard commercial website (BN [nods to Bluesman], Borders, or Amazon)?

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

I recommend pleasant.

I started the ordering process for The Last Rakosh but it doesn't look like you can order through Shocklines outside the US.

If you have problems ordering, I'd be willing to serve as a proxy for you.
