I know that it is not a new movie, but I watched Cronos last night for the first time and was mesmerized. It is by far the best horror movie I've seen recently. It has an original premise, which earns it kudos automatically in my book, that it carries off with great aplomb. I will be watching it again this evening.

P.S. It is a foreign film, so those convinced that reading subtitles detracts from the viewing pleasure shall be missing out a wonderful little gem.

I've almost rented that a couple times, but the missus poo-pooed it.

For foreign film I would go with Ju-On: The Grudge. For domestic I would have to say the American remake of The Ring. I can't think of any other really good American horror in recent memory. Haven't seen Chronos yet but it's on my list to check out at some point.

I'm going to have to go with the remake of "Dawn of the Dead". I haven't had that much of a good time at a horror movie in a very long time. It had every element that I could have wanted.

I'm with Marc on Ju-On: The Grudge. Hopefully the americanized version won't be too awful bad. It has the same director as the original, so there's hope. I just can't see Buffy playing the role effectively. Oh well, I thought the remake of the "The Ring" would suck it up, but it turned out really well, so my doubts are probably groundless.

In my family, my wife wore the pants -- I wear trousers. Big Grin

Recently, I saw THE ORDER(by DVD)....but I saw at midnight,so I felt sleep. Someday I'll see again. Does anybody saw this movie?

Tomorrow night,I am going to see Dawn of the Dead.

Sleeping is infinitely preferable to watching The Order; it and Timeline get my vote as the worst movies from last year.

That is a distinct possibility, but I haven't seen Solaris so I can't say. I found Timeline unwatchable. Lisa might like it; the cheese fairly oozes from its every pore. Big Grin
