For those of you still in search of the Gauntlet signed limited of The Haunted Air, there's a no reserve auction on eBay right now! It's a 7 day auction ending Sunday May 1.

Here's the link: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...:B:SS:US:1

Good luck! I hope somebody from this board wins the auction.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you end up spending to get your copy?

I don't honestly remember. It wasn't cheap, but it was worth it. Big Grin

Oh, come on. Make it public. It's nice to know what the return on the investment is. Just to play nice, the most expensive FPW purchase I made was a signed first edition of Healer for $125. And that was over 10 years ago.

It was more than that.

Really? How is it that THA became that rare and valuable? I can understand The Tomb LE, but one of the recent RJ books? To me they are priceless.

I believe Barry Hoffman of Gauntlet let a big chunk of the print run for The Haunted Air go to a single distributor, causing the book to sell out long before publication. Whether that distributor is sitting on their copies, or has sold them, I don't know, but only a handful have shown up on the auction sites.

I usually purchase directly from Gauntlet, but didn't order in time before the book sold out. Somehow, I managed to get a copy from Amazon for less than Gauntlet's price (I want to say I paid around $38 vs. Gauntlet's $50 or $55?).

For awhile there, I was convinced that Biggles had purchased a couple hundred copies from Barry and was just hording them for his own personal use...

Curses! Foiled again! I was hoping to sell them for 10, nay, 12 times their issue price. All to finance my diabolical scheme for world domination.
