The more I watch Sin City the more I think it is one of the best films ever, AND probably has the most coolest, badass, quotable lines out of any movie that has come out in a long time.

I've seen it 3 times now and it's still fresh and fun.

I just watched "Sin City," and while I agree that it is the most visually interesting movie I've seen in a very long time (possibly ever), and it is the perfect rendition of a comic book on film, and it was brilliantly directed, and most of the acting was spot on, I wound up fast forwarding through the last 45 minutes. I just couldn't take it anymore. The only other film I ever fast forwarded through was "Blow," but for entirely different reasons.

At one point I checked how long the film was and was horrified to see I had another hour and 20 minutes left.

Madsen was unable to achieve the complete abandon required for delivering the campy dialogue. He was wooden and spoiled the scenes he was in. I agree with everyone's assessment of Brittany Murphy, whose success is a complete mystery to me. Mickey Rourke was born to play that role. Huzzah, for Mickey!

I won't be watching this movie again, but I'm glad I saw it, despite the length.

THE NEXT DAY....

Well, wonder of wonders, I did watch "Sin City" again. A friend wanted to see it, and we watched it together. The second time around I enjoyed it more. Go figure.

I took it as simply a graphic novel with over the top violence, not unlike a Road Runner cartoon. Instead of anvils falling on Wiley Coyote's head, there were guns and swords and knives and whatnot, none of which seemed to kill the good guys. Even the cannibalism didn't get to me the second time around.

The movie is a visual wonder, though I still found myself antsy for the last installment to end. Mickey Rourke's story was the best.

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.
