I noticed a reference to Glaeken in The Haunted Air (I think that's the right one). The old woman said something like, there is another one but he is too old. I gather that she was talking about Glaeken, but why does he have to be too old? He is an amazing character, and Rasalom, Molasar, etc. keeps coming back, so why not Glaeken? It would be wonderful to see him again.
Actually, I haven't read Gateways or Crisscross yet, so I really don't know that he's not back. If the reason that he's gone is explained somewhere, someone please refresh my memory. The reference in THA has me wanting more Glaeken. . . . Not that Jack needs a partner, but a mentor would be good. Kinda like Master Splinter is for the turtles, he's old, but still kicks ass when necessary. Wink

Your answer can be found within the Adversary Cycle books The Keep, Reborn, Reprisal, and Nightworld.

I've read The Keep, but not the others. . . . . YET! Thanks for the help! I love the character and now I know where to find more of him!

Fasten your seat belt! You are in for the ride of your life! The Adversary Cycle is THE BOMB! Wish I could go back in time and read them for the first time; ain't nothing like it.

Reading is freedom.

no limitations.

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

Having just read them (apart from the Keep) for the first time I 100% agree!

Yup! Agree completely. In the last three books when all the pieces start slotting into place it's sheer bliss. But please read them in order for full effect!! And prepare to have the wool pulled over your eyes and the carpet from under your feet quite a few times too Big Grin

...I've started looking for acronyms of Rasalom, but missed what should have been an easy one in Reprisal.

Maxplay - are you referring to Ms Lom. If so, I completely and utterly missed it myself. I felt such a doughnut later on when all was revealed!! It was a real head in the hands DOH!! moment. Sheer genius!

I was completely thrown with the false-negative pregnancy thing in Reborn as well and I was knocked sideways when Jim fell early on - how can this be?!?!? Where can the book go now???. WTF is going on??
What a well written book that is - well done The Effster!!!
