The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.
~ Howard Phillips Lovecraft

Too bad you cannot cancel! This movie was bad. It took a ten year war and cut it down to just over 3 weeks. Boy did it take a lot of liberties with Homer's "Iliad"! The only real saving grace to this film was Peter O'Toole as King Priam. There were some spectacular scenes, but those scenes did little to offset what was, as a whole, a terrible movie.

Sounds like you got swept in the double header. Betcha never thought you would be telling people that SpongeBob is the best movie you've seen recently.

Well, but.....it's better than King Arthur, anyway.

Oh I don't know about that. I haven't seen Troy yet, but I thought King Arthur was a decent action flick. As with most things Bruckenheimer, it wrapped a top-notch production team around a medicore story. The frozen lake scene was awesome.

The frozen lake scene was awesome, but the rest of the movie really, really, really let me down.

And annoyed me, actually.

Here's Arthur with around six other guys, tops, and he's giving all these "Knights! We will fight today!" type speeches. These guys had traveled and fought together for years, and he's still giving them these types of speeches? It was just so ... over the top. Could they not afford to at least give him a small force of twenty guys? The speeches would've made more sense, at that point. As it was, he came off less like a king, and more like middle-management.

No argument from me, I happened to be in the perfect state of mind when watching it. I was looking for mindless action and KA delivered.

I equate Bruckenheimer films with the Beatles Tomorrow Never Knows, " Turn off your mind, relax and float downstream."
