Marc B. and myself are proud to announce after weeks of backbreaking work the newest version of the F. Paul Wilson FAQ.

The main goal of version 2.0 was to make the FAQ completely downloadable. After much discussion which turned into a shouting match and then ended up as an all-out brawl, we decided that the best format for this would be PDF. (actually, it went something like this: Marc: Hey, let's use PDF. Mike: Okay.)

We know that PDF isn't the most popular format with all of you, but the positives outweighed the negatives and this is what we decided to go with.

Please give us feedback, good or bad, and we will consider it for future revisions of the FAQ.

Okay, I'll stop typing now, here's the link: http://webpages.charter.net/mjturman/fpwfaq/index.htm

Congratulations, guys, and thank you for the hard work! It looks great. I downloaded it, but couldn't access any of the links in the FAQ by clicking on them. Do I have to cut and paste?

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

For some reason mine is kinda screwed up with my acrobat reader. I can read about three quarters of the words and the others are unreadable.Do I need to upgrade it?

Uh, that's a feature! Big Grin

I can't either. Cut and paste for now, we'll get it figured out.

We'll have version 2.1 (now with working links!) out in no time.

Wait, I just opened it up with the new Adobe Reader 7.0 and the links work! So if you upgrade to the latest I guess everything works okay.

Not sure about this. I'm running Adobe Reader 6.0.2 here at home. I just tried it on my work machine that's running the new 7.0 and it seems to work fine on that too. You might consider upgrading to the 7.0.

This is all very strange considering I used Adobe Acrobat 6.0 to make the PDF. Version 6 should work fine. I'll look into it though and see what's up. I (and I'm sure Aphew) want to make this as compatible as possible.

Okay... I built a new version of the FAQ (version 2.0.1) which should be backwards compatible with Adobe Reader 5 and later. Aphew will be posting it sometime later today. Sorry about the confusion and delay.

Cool. I'll admit to being skeptical about using PDF instead of HTML for a FAQ, but the PDF looks professional in a way that HTML just wouldn't. Nice job.
