What happened to Christian Bale?!

Today I went to see The Machinist. What a weird movie! Creepy! It's reminded me of The Thinner. According to Guiness world record, England's lady has 19 days sleepless record, but 365 days is......Nah! Impossible!

Anyway, Christian Bale is awesome. That...his body....I don't know what I say. I read some articles about his interview. 140 pounds...130 pounds, and finally 120 pounds. Not used CG. Even Robert DeNiro can't do like him.

Has anyone seen this movie?

Watched this last night. Bale's physical tranformation is just...Hell, I don't know how to describe it. To see him in Reign of Fire , then this film, then to Batman just boggles the mind. The film itself is as Kenji said - creepy and weird. Figuring out some of the twists is a bit too easy but others caught me by surprise. It tends to be slow at times but even then there are pieces of this puzzle to be found.

I'm a bit mixed on this film. The acting is great and the plot confusing which helps to identify with Bale's character, but something was missing. Have to watch it again, I guess. Bale makes the film worth watching.

Thanks for the head's up, Sam. I'll put this on my Netflix never-ending queue. I think Bale is worth watching in anything. He is one of my favorite young actors working today.

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

I liked Christian Bale's role in Steven Spielberg's Empire of the Sun. (1987)

Absolutely! "Empire of the Sun" is on my top 20 favs of all time, largely because of young Christian Bale. He's a remarkable talent, and he's grown up to be a remarkable hunk as well. Wink

And, don't forget "Equilibrium". That movie was amazing. Great action + wonderful story(especially the theme of father and son).

Then be prepared for the shock of your life when you see your "hunk" in this film. I will say no more.

That's one of the reasons I haven't rented it yet. I'm a little scared about what he looks like and watching that for 2 hours.

Don't worry. He is actor. He just shaped up own body for this movie. Like a DeNiro did it in "Raging Bull" and "The Untouchables".

Anyway, now he is Batman. You can see his "Before and After". Big Grin
