i haven't been reading much lately (schools getting in the way!), but the last really good horror novel i read was the rising by brian keane. Definitely a page turner.

I finished that before Christmas and thoroughly enjoyed it! I highly recommend it!

I just recently started reading Necroscope by Brian Lumley. I am a slow reader, but I intend on reading the whole series - maybe the second series? So far I am enjoying the book immensely, though I haven't even really gotten into the main plot yet. I like the inclusion of Math in the book so far. Wondering if this remains throughout the series. Anyone?

The Mobius Continuum is a major plot component in the first series, specifically for Harry Keogh.

This was pretty good for Peter Straub, a much easier read than some of his work, which I find too muddled...I didn't think it deserved the Stoker award, but it was still good. Has anyone read the follow up book - In the Night Room? It's in my slush pile, but I haven't gotten to it yet.

It figures into all of Lumley's Vampire books; The Necroscope Series, The Vampire World Series, and The New Necroscope Series. This is some awesome stuff that I found immensely enjoyable reading.

The Necroscope series was awesome, I've read them all (expect for the lastest - "Harry Keogh and other Weird Heroes"). And to paraphrase fpw... "this is no Ann Rice version of vampires". And cyber-jack, you got the listing right and in order. http://brianlumley.com/books/necroscope/

i'm big into a horror/crime series called The Special X series. it's about a fictional detachment of the RCMP that investigate horrific crimes. the series is written by Michael Slade. website at http://www.specialx.net. sweet books. awesome death... if you're into that sort of thing. there's 10 books in the series so far:
