My personal choices will always be Clive Owen or Aaron Eckhart, but I know it won't happen.
Hollywood is so youth obbessed that neither actor would get the call.
It doesn't matter that both of them would be great in the role. Both have the right look.
Heck, when you look at the outline of Jack on the book covers you could place a picture of Clive Owen in there and it would be a perfect fit. It's in the neck and head shape. It looks like Clive to me.
Aaron Eckhart has that everyman look. He's attractive to be sure, but his looks are very normal. Not prettyboyish. Sure, he'd have to dye his hair and wear colored contacts, but who cares.
To see Clive Owen, watch King Arthur, Derailed, and Chrildren of Men.
For Aaron Eckhart, watch Possesed, The Core, and the upcoming No Reservations.
But, as I have found in the past, although most times my casting is far superior to anything Hollywood comes up with, most times I am completely wrong with who is actually cast.
It is truly sad.
For other characters, Julia Stiles would be a good Gia. I don't want some impossibly gorgeous stick figure of an actress to play her...like say Kate Bosworth, or god forbid Scarlett Johanssan..I mean really, isn't she in enough movies already?
John Goodman is Abe to me.
