I was just on Brian Lumley's website and Necroscope has been optioned for a movie. Anyone want to make a wager on whether that will be made before the Repairman Jack movie?

Ooh, that means I need to hurry and read those books now!

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

That's interesting news. I read the original eight books back in college. I haven't read the "lost years" or the new ones.

As far as the wager, I never thought they'd ever get the "Doom" movie made and that's happening right now. I'm going to say that RJ gets made first. I can't see a studio diving into yet another vampire film. I think it's going to stay in limbo for quite some time.

Necroscope will be made first because Hollywood loves characters that talk to dead people. I can just imagine some of the generalizations of the movie: "The Sixth Sense meets Dracula."

But, Hollywood will butcher the Necroscope series, too.

Don't forget meets the Matrix.

Everything has to meet the Matrix. :p

No bets on which gets made first but I hope both get made soon. It would be nice to have both the RJ movie and the Necroscope movie do well so there would be more of them.

I'd also like to see movies of some of their other material. I'd think Paul's medical thrillers would make great movies. And I'd like to see the rest of the Adversary Cycle be done along with the other RJ novels. I'm not sure how well Brian's Titus Crow series would do as movies, but I'd sure love to see them tried.

I read the first couple of them. It was a neat world concept, but I got tired of the writing style. Mainly because! There were! Way too many exclamation points! Like, one every sentence or so!

Yeah, and his dialogue is kind of weird. Especially in I think Necroscope IV or V where he had a black American soldier speaking. He was practically a cave man.
