Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

Since I am a Trekkie (Don't say trekker), I have to share my opinions of the Trek movies (whether you want them or not). Best:4 & 6. Also very good: 2, 3, & 8. OK: 1 & 9. Terrible:5, 7( because they killed Kirk), & 10.

I do not consider myself a Trekkie. I would have to rank 8 and 2 as the best. I think 4 was a decent movie, but not a good Star Trek movie. 7 and 10 were just terrible movies! (Nothing to do with Kirk - they were just awful.) Most fans say that 6 is the best (or among the best). Maybe I didn't get into the show enough to understand why. Care to elaborate?

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Aw heck, I paid good money to see 7 expressly *because* they killed Kirk. I felt like I got more than my money's worth when they actually killed him twice.

Is she a cunning linguist?

Sorry, recycled Bond joke. As to Dalton, Cyber-jack, he is second only to Sean, IMO. He added an element of realism and grit that Roger Moore had long since lost and Pierce Brosnan struggled to comprehend.

I have trouble rating the "other" Bonds, because Sean Connery is James Bond, even as old and gray (or bald) as he now is, I would rather pay to see him than the others.

Brosnan should have stopped after Goldeneye, the last few have been abysmal.

You're right about Roger Moore, but something about Dalton just doesn't click for me.

I can't comment on the forgotten Bond, George Lazenby, cause I don't think I've seen the one movie he did...For her Majesty's Secret Service maybe? I have the original theatrical movie poster for this movie somewhere, but have never gotten around to watching the movie...

I liked Trek 4 & 6 best because of a combination of a good story and giving all of my favorite characters something to do. I cared about what happened to them. Also, Christopher Plummer was a great villain in 6.

For the past 11 years, I've been going to a fan sponsored convention called Camp Dover Peace Conference, which is a gathering of Trek federation clubs and Klingon clubs. The idea for the convention came from the dinner on the Enterprise in 6.

I always liked Deep Space Nine better than Next Generation because I liked the characters better, especially the Ferengi.

When I saw Trek 7, there was a group of people dressed as Klingons in the row behind me who stood up and cheered when Kirk was killed. I can't really blame them since I cheered when Tasha Yar was killed on Next Gen.

Did I get this joke or is my mind in the gutter (probabbly)?

Puhleeze! When you know the name of EVERY DAMNED Power Ranger from Mighty Morphin to SPD, you'll know scarred. :p I'm telling you, if he doesn't grow out of this shit soon, I'll go crazy! I hate the power rangers concept more than any other. If they would stay the same, I could handle it. See, they put out "a new breed of power rangers" around February of every year. Rolleyes For example, it's currently Power Rangers Dino Thunder. We finally have all of those action figures, and he got the megazords for Christmas and B-day. Well, those toys just suck now because the NEW F-ING RANGERS are the SPD. (That's Space Patrol Delta for all of you fortunate people) Anyway, I just can't stand that show (any of them!) But, Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh do really suck. I loved the Care Bears, so I take offense to that one Big Grin
