I loved "Temple of Doom" and still do. I could go on and list a thousand reasons, but fans of Indy are split right down the middle with this movie. It's a love/hate thing and there is no bringing anyone over to the other side. Believe me, I've tried.

Sequels that should have never been made:

Cube 2: Hypercube
Escape from L.A.
The Batman movies with Kilmer and Clooney
The Hills Have Eyes 2 (or maybe it's Part 2)
Caddyshack 2

cyber-jack Wrote:Though not true sequals, how about the few James Bond movies starring Timothy Dalton? One of them was License Renewed or something along those lines and had Wayne Newton as an evil televangelist drug lord. Timothy Dalton actually manages to get a semi into a wheelie in that movie!

Please God, erase that one from existence...

License To Kill is my favourite Bond movie. Yeah, the bad guy wasn't memorable, but Bond on a mission of revenge, without the backup or legality of HMSS, finally a Bond with character!

Fair to say I'm not really a Bond fan, but this one I'd buy.

PS The Bond girl with short hair was a bit of a hotty too

Do these have to be "2"s? Because if not I nominate Alien 3 and 4. But only since someone else already nominated Highlander 2: The Sickening (my least favorite movie of all time).

How about the 1982 "Trail of the Pink Panther," starring Peter Sellers....who died in 1980!

I recommend pleasant.

I liked Indian Jones 2 mucho!

But, I agree that most part 2 movies blow chunks...

E.g. Matrix 2, and RoboCop II.

But, here are a couple I think were as good if not better than the first:

Aliens (my alltime favorite sequel!)
T2
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Empire Strikes Back
Two Towers

Aliens was GREAT! Especially the Directors Cut Version! I want to get that one on DVD.

Other sequels that I thought were better than the first (yeah I know, we probably should've started a different thread but oh well):

X-Men United
Shrek 2
Resident Evil: Apocolapse
Terminator 2

Let's not forget Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn.

I liked X-Men 2 and Shrek 2, but I don't really think they are better than the originals.

I like Terminator far more than the sequel, though the sequel is pretty darn good.

You forgot Spider-Man 2 which, IMHO, is better than the first.

The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents. ... The piecing together of dissociated knowledge will open up such terrifying vistas of reality, and of our frightful position therein, that we shall either go mad from the revelation or flee from the light into the peace and safety of a new dark age.

Kenji Wrote:City Slickers2....(I was disappointed to Jack Palance. He was good role in first one. Sad )

Sister Act2....(Woopie Goldberg is school teacher? C'mon! Gimme a break)

Speed2.....(I couldn't feel the speed)

Starship Troopers 2.....(I can't say anything. Totally worst!)

I have to take issue with Starship Troopers 2. It was a complete departure from the first one, but I thought that was a good thing in how they handled it. My only complaint was it was a little reminiscent of The Thing (okay, a lot), but judging it on the sole merits of an action movie, it did the trick. I hated the first Sister Act, so in my opinion it's which one is worse.

Liked both Ghost Busters.

Didn't like any of the Xman or Spider Man movies.

I loved the Die Hard trilogy, but the second was the weakest.

The Princess Diaries 2, didn't see either, but was there a need for a second? Same goes with Dirty Dancing Havana Nights, Legally Blonde 2, and Scooby-Doo 2.

Star Wars II, the lead character was a little...different for my liking.

Barbershop 2, just sucked. I was told by a black friend that you had to be black to enjoy it. What a bunch of crap.

Every Jaws movie after the first.

Rocky 5

Both the Matrix sequels.

Predator 2, although I liked it, they could have done a hell of a lot better than that. I see there is a special edition out now, might have to get it just because I want everything that has to do with predator and aliens, dvd related.

Scary Movie collection sucked.

All the Home Alones after two. I think they are up to 26 now.

Bad Boys II, didn't like it.

Blade II could have been way better.

A lot of the Freddie, Jason and Myers movies sucked past the first one.

Tomb Raider 2

I'm going to end it there.

There was once a man who was all obsessed with the strangest things. Like Nestle Quik, original cdr's and Afro-sheen. He built himself his dome, never left his home, decided life is much better when you're on your own. You might not want my opinion, but he coulda been on to something good.
