In Haunted Air, Anya's dog was named Oyv which was short for Irving. I don't recall Kate's last name in that book and my sis has it so I can't check. If it IS Irving then maybe Anya's naming of the dog was no coincedence. "No more coincedences for you, Jack."

Kate's last name does have an I-R-V- and N in it, but it's Iverson, not Irving. You were pretty close though.

On a different note, I came across a site called Monstaah. Guess it's a comic book wherein Dracula makes his deal with Satan - only Dracula calls him Rasalom. FPW writes Midnight Mass. Hmmm...is the Otherness responsible for Nosferatu?!?!?! Was Dr. Frankenstein's experiments actually an attempt to create a human form for Rasalom?? Was the Wolfman actually Rasalom's runaway pet (he chewed through his collar)?? Was blah blah blah actually yadda yadda yadda???

One analysis of Frankenstein that I find intriguing is that the author was criticizing British government. The Doctor represented politicians, and the Monster represented the reality of what they were actually doing.

Hmmm... Along the lines of this subject, maybe the original Godzilla was created in order to boost Japan's public approval for more military power against the U.S. Since it was our A-bomb testing that supplied the radiation that created him and his subsequent destruction of anything Japanese, it could be said that Godzilla embodied the U.S.'s military dominance over Japan.

We need a monster to represent Communism now. Zombies maybe??
