I apologize in advance if this has been discussed before.

Does Jack have a last name? In Hunted Air, they said Kate's last name is Irving, but is it her last name or the last name of her ex-husband?

Thoughts, comments, concerns?

As far as I know, Jack has no last name. He left it behind. I'm pretty sure his sisters last name was from marrage. I think FPW has one for him but from all the books I've read he's keeping it between him and Jack! Some things have to remain a mystery.

I remember in The Tomb he used several, none were his I think. And I remember in Gateways. His father's name is Tom but they never said his last name either. Now I'm really curious too!

In Haunted Air, Anya's dog was named Oyv which was short for Irving. I don't recall Kate's last name in that book and my sis has it so I can't check. If it IS Irving then maybe Anya's naming of the dog was no coincedence. "No more coincedences for you, Jack."

I believe FPW has said in the past that he knows Jack's last name, but has never revealed it; nor is he likely to do so in the future.

I mean, he's Repairman Jack. It just wouldn't ring the same if he was Repairman Jack Bergschneider.

I agree, not knowing Jack's last name is part of the charm. I was just wondering is perhaps it has been mentioned and i missed it. Cool

Just to clarify: Anya and Oyv appear in "Gateways" not "The Haunted Air". Kate appears in "Hosts" not "The Haunted Air".

Well, you have your own image of Jack. When you are reading books, you get into Jack. When Ken is reading the book, his name is Jack Valentine. When Bluesman Mike is reading the book, his name is Jack Lindner. You know, everybody wanna be Jack. Me too.

When I'm reading the book, his name is Jack Asakura.........Nah! Never! Big Grin :p

Anyway, someday we will know his last name. I hope so.

N-o-o-o-o his name isn't Jack Valentine . . . Big Grin

When I read a book, I'm an observer, not a participant. But I understand what you're saying.
