Read the books in whatever order everyone says (it seems to be always torn between published-date order and "this one, then this one, then that one, then this one..."), but whatever you do, read Nightworld last. Ask me and the one or two other people on this board who agrees that it's the best way:

'Bout the only difference between published and chronological order is that in chronological order, REBORN would come second instead of fourth, as it is in published order.

I already read them in that order and I feel like it sucked! Because I read NightWorld last, I know a few things... I.e. Gia, Vicky, Julio, and Abe (not to mention Jack) all make it. This sucked for me during some of the RJ books, because a couple of times I was borderline thinking each and every one of them might not make it through this book. However, that thought was fleeting, because I knew that they all lived through NightWorld, which is the ending.

My feeling about FPW's books, all of them, is that they are so darned fantastic that the order in which you read isn't going to affect you that much. Yes, there is a logical progression of events from book to book. But they all simply ROCK and are worth reading again and again.

So, for those starting out, just pick up whatever tickles your fancy. Dig in and enjoy. Then go for the next in whatever order you'd like. Because I know you will go back for seconds and thirds on the wonderful smorgasbord of Wilson.

So there I was, being a good little newbie and reading past threads. I had wanted to ask this question myself, someone beat me to it. I have a lot of reading to do, my internet time will suffer, but I will be exploring this site in depth in the coming days.

I've finished The Keep, and am now into the first couple chapters of Reborn. I enjoyed the heck out of reading The Keep, I had it with me constantly, desperately reading a few paragraphs at stoplights and on my breaks at work. So I'd say I am hooked. I love being this new to a writer's works, there are several FPW books ahead of me. It'll take a bit of time, but I'll get through them.

Thank you for asking that question. I too am new to F. Paul Wilson's books. I was wondering as I entered this forum if there was an order to all the books. I have read "Midnight Mass", "Conspiracies", and now "Legacies." So far I have enjoyed them. I look forward to reading as many as I can of all that Mr. Wilson has written.

Does anyone know where the word "Rakoshi" comes from and what does it mean?? I had never seen that word before.
