Hello everyone. I am newly registered but have been out there for awhile and am really impressed with the forum. My username, as you can see, is dr_em2001, but you can all call me RJ. No, not Repairman Jack, it's actually been my nickname for years, thats just a coincidence. I really love all of FPW's books, but originally wasn't interested in the Repairman Jack series. I began with Mirage, Nightkill, Deeper Than the Marrow, and FPW quickly became one of my new favorites. So, I picked up the Keep and enjoyed the book immensely. After I finished it, I found out that it was part one of a cycle of books, and started reading. I had heard that the second AC was the first RJ book, and didn't really want to get into the RJ series, but after reading the Tomb, I was hooked. I havn't found The Touch yet, locally, but it doesn't really matter because I am addicted to RJ. I have read The Tomb, Legacies, Conspiracies, and All the Rage, plus I have Hosts on the shelf. I am happy to be here, and hope to see you guys around.

Welcome to the board RJ.

Since you started out non-RJ, have you read The Select or Black Wind yet?

I recommend pleasant.

I havn't read either of those, but I do have The Select on my shelf. Everytime I go to the library or a book store, FPW is the first author I look for. It's great, because he is a new author to me, but he already has a host of material for me to read...it's great. My favorite non-RJ book would be The Keep, Midnight Mass, or Deep as the Marrow. Though I really enjoyed Nightkill and Mirage as well. Mirage gave me the creeps late at night for sure.

The Select is my favorite non- RJ/AC book. I have Mirage, but haven't read it yet; I lent it to my mom. Also keep your eyes open for Sibs.

Welcome RJ! The Select is a great book! Very suspenseful. Sims is probably my favorite FPW book. That's a great read. Or is Black Wind my favorite? I don't know. They're both fantastic and I highly recommend them. My mother-in-law returned from a vacation to Texas last night (they drove there and back). I sent her with both of those books for the ride. I'm interested to see what she thought.

My recommendation is to read everything of Paul's whenever you can find it, with these provisos: 1) Read the AC in order (at least the last three volumes); 2)Read the RJ books in order, because Jack's knowledge of the Adversary grows as you proceed.

Depending upon your preferences, you will find horror, sci-fi, and socio-political-economics themes (and mixtures thereof) in Paul's work. It's all good, so you can't miss. One recommendation I have for something that's completely different from Paul's other work is The Fifth Harmonic. I found it extraordinarily uplifting. Enjoy!

One last thing. If you ever get a chance to join us at a GU (Grand Unification), by all means do so. It is a great opportunity to get to know Paul as a person, and have a great time with others on this board.
