I saw this in HFR 3D.
I hate all things LOTR. I also hate Star Wars and Star Trek. I am not a sci-fi/fantasy kind of guy.
I will be honest, I have no idea what I sat through, or what I watched, but I know it looked AMAZING! If you have a theater showing this in High Frame rate, give it a try, it was a very surreal experience.
I know some folks do not like the HFR because it has a "filmed on video" look and feel versus being on "film". The truth is though, while it takes on a "video" or "soap opera" effect, it is vibrant, fluid, and displays a level of detail I have never seen at the movies.
LOVED it for this reason and I hope more 3D movies get the HFR treatment.
I Would have loved to have seen GRAVITY in HFR 3D if it was available.
