Anyone else see it yet?

I LOVE my dragons......as well as LOTR......so....it was awesome!

I was creeped out by the giants spiders in Mirkwood....but beyond that...I was enthralled. Big Grin

Saw it on Saturday and thought it was very good. I thought the first one was too long ... maybe because it took so long to get rolling. That was not a problem with this one. Big Grin I was disappointed when I realized it had ended and now have to wait to see the conclusion!

I saw this in HFR 3D.

I hate all things LOTR. I also hate Star Wars and Star Trek. I am not a sci-fi/fantasy kind of guy.

I will be honest, I have no idea what I sat through, or what I watched, but I know it looked AMAZING! If you have a theater showing this in High Frame rate, give it a try, it was a very surreal experience.

I know some folks do not like the HFR because it has a "filmed on video" look and feel versus being on "film". The truth is though, while it takes on a "video" or "soap opera" effect, it is vibrant, fluid, and displays a level of detail I have never seen at the movies.

LOVED it for this reason and I hope more 3D movies get the HFR treatment.

I Would have loved to have seen GRAVITY in HFR 3D if it was available.

The three hour length is a turn off to me, especially when you consider that there's no real reason for turning the book into some epic LOTR wannabe. I also noticed that the previews included some sort of soap opera amongst the elves, that never existed in the book (some romance?).

I have heard good things about how this one looks on screen, so I'll like wind up taking my niece if she wants to see it. I still think Jackson is a pompous jackass, though.

Why do I always do this to myself???
