9/3 - RiP Fred Pohl. One of the fathers of modern SF. My first signing (at a B. Dalton in Toms River) was with Fred and Barry Malzberg and Isaac Asimov.

9/10 - Disappointed in the recent "Luther" run. Lazy writing and idiot plotting. Not even Alice Morgan could save it.
9/11 - Something to think about...

9/14 - Is it wrong to take such inordinate pleasure writing in the voice of a character who totally destroys the English language?
9/16 - Hmmm...comparing my dialogue to Elmore Leonard's. I think I like this DARK CITY review...

9/17 - I'm told John Wayne saw Ramino with Groucho on this TV segment and hired him for "Rio Bravo." Maybe true, maybe not, but it's a funny segment.

Bouchercon 2013, here I come. Three hours on the road should do it.
9/22 - Lots of folks asking for a sequel to MIDNIGHT MASS over the years. The book keeps selling and people keep asking. So I turned off the radio on the 3-hour drive home from Bouchercon and came up with some unique major elements and conflicts that will keep it from being a simple rehash of MM. It's not ready to write yet, but when it is, I hope there's room on my plate to write it. Because it's looking like fun.
9/25 - Heather Graham and I did the final tweaks on "Infernal Night," our story for the FACE OFF anthology.
9/26 - Well, I was going to tell people about this new Kickstarter thing to fund a giant Creepy/Eerie type horror anthology and tell you that you had a chance to be killed in my story, but that reward disappeared immediately. Sorry. Anyway, it's going to be a great collection. Take a look

9/27 - Oh, yay. The page proofs for the NIGHTWORLD mass market pb arrove. Do you know how many times I've read this sucker in its varying iterations over the past twenty+ years? Neither do I.
9/28 - "Broadchurch" - watched the finale last night - wrenching. An excellent miniseries, perfect for binge watching.
9/29 - saw opening night (previews) of "A Time to Kill" on B'way. The upside: good cast and super stagecraft. Downside: no standout performance (Ashley Williams did the most with her supporting role) and needs some scenes cut. Must-see theater? No. But a solid courtroom drama.
