Neeps is the scots for turnips - but the purple skinned orange fleshed variety. These are called swede almost anywhere outside of Scotland.

Brrrrr It's cold here......into the minus temps and a good amount of snow all over the state of CT. How is everyone else fairing?

We've had lots of rain, storms, floods and tidal surges and such.
Not so bad here in London and the south east, but Peter's neck of the woods seems to have had it pretty bad, and the Welsh coast getting battered so much that sea walls and other coastal defences have been broken up. Temperatures have been the seasonal norm in most places.
Doesn't compare with what's going down with the north-eastern seaboard across the pond.
You're so much further south that the UK but it looks positively Arctic in New England.

Arkansas has hit record lows. It was 9 degrees this morning. I know that is not as bad as some places, but it never gets this cold here. We have winters, just usually 30+ degrees. This single digit shit, I could have stayed in Baltimore if I wanted to experience that!

At last check -14 here in Chicago.

It's 27 here, but here is Texas so for us it's cold.
