Maybe that's why cops can't hit shit when they have these massive gun battles...their weapons aren't zeroed to them!!

Certain guys are issued them and they qualify once a year with thier service weapon. I don't have or want one. As far as cleaning if you are dumb enough not to keep the tool that could save your life clean and operational you're an idiot.

Exactly. I'm just wondering. Like if the non-SWAT guys are issued M4s or whatever for big operations (like the Boston manhunt) from the armory, who keeps the weapons clean? Anyone that has fired an M4 or variant knows how dirty they get and if not properly maintained can jam and very inconvienant times!

Very few non SWAT guys are issued them and you are responsible for maintaining anything issued to you and SGTs are supposed to do an inspection once a month.

I'm just going off of what I've seen in the news recently, basically a bunch of uniformed street cops with them as well. I know not for every day police duties, but I mean for the big manhunt operations.
I think my favorite picture was from I believe the Boston manhunt of some SWAT dude in multicam that had his ACOG on backwards! Priceless!

I only know what we do BUT my guess would be for liability reasons the department would have to document training and qualifications etc.

I would think so as well. So what happens if someone can't qualify on his/her assigned weapon. Or is some insane qualification table that is virtually impossible to actually fail?
