OP.....or whoever else has an ARC- is there a lady and a dog in Cold City anywhere? we know from FE and TDATE that the Lady has been watching Jack for a long time. does she make an appearance in CC?

If memory serves, she shows up twice... at least by implication. A dog causes the incident that takes a driver out of commission and clears the way for Jack to (reluctantly) take his place, and a key phone call placed by an anonymous woman has a dog barking in the background. Those could be coincidences, but....

The Ally isn't exactly good or benevolent. Just look at all the people removed from Jack's life to make him a "spear". Including his mother. even the Yeniceri did awful things for what they through were the right reasons, like killing Jack's dad and trying to kill Gia. so killing Olive? right up its Ally,oops I mean alley!

and if we never know who did it (my money is still on the Twins to get the place shut down- R was using the attendees to feed from, remember?) then it gives us something to wonder at for a long time to come and plenty of interesting chat who knows, maybe it WAS aliens and the conference attendees were right!!!!

Yikes, The Ally doesn't sound that much nicer than The Adversary:eek: Just finished Reprisal, which means I've read almost every thing FPW has written except for the rest of the RJ series. I'm glad I went back and read all the non-RJ stuff before continuing with the RJ series because it lends a richer context to the RJ novels. (Also because they were wonderful stories; even the ones that had nothing to do with TSHOTW and/or the AC.) Now I can continue with All The Rage much more knowledgable about Jack's world.

Btw, BK, your Twins theory is a lot more plausible now that I know the Ally isn't above allowing horrific things to occur to foil the Adversary's goal.

ATR happens to be my favorite RJ book. found myself yelling out OH YES! enough to raise eyebrows from the neighbors the next day
