Ok, I know we have some Who fans here and I just started. We had a massive 4 season marathon over the past 10 days and my head is spinning!

So who's up for some discussion?

I'll start. Do you think the Doctor knows he has some sort of mesmerizing effect on earth girls? They all seem to fall for him, even that crazy Donna.

Apparently he has it on some guys too, re: CJH. I never really cared much for Donna. I was sad to see Martha go though. One of my favorite episodes is a Martha one - the one with The Family (brother of mine, etc.). The one dude was crazily creepy.

Looks like you gents have a lot to catch up on. Over yer we've had a new Doctor for the last two seasons. Enjoy it with Donna, her departure is really quite sad.

I know, I hope to be caught up to the newest season available in the US in a few weeks, then I'll have to eagerly await new episodes like the rest of the US Who fans. It looks like some of the older stuff is also on Netflix, so once I catch up i'll have to ask my resident Who expert where to go next!

So far the hardest part has been trying to keep some sort of timeline in my head. They keep meeting some of the same people, but at different points in time.

That was a good one! Martha leaving was sad, but I was floored when he said something went wrong and she ended up fancying him. Is he really that daft? They all did! I was surprised to see Donna join him after her reaction at first. We havent seen too many Donna episodes yet, but so far I still find her annoying.

At the moment i'm pondering what Captain Jack said about being called the Face of Boe. Jack is supposed to be immortal, but we saw what happened to th face. Maybe that is explained eventually.

Yes, the new ones. Being completely new to the show that was the recommended starting point from a friend who is completely into everything Who. It does seem like Netflix has some older seasons too, which I think will be my next stop once I catch up. But I do think I have had a good intro to some of the classic characters, like Daleks.

I have heard a lot about the Tom Baker era, i'm looking forward to seeing those episodes. Of the two Doctors i've seen so far, I like them both, but find David Tennent to be a little more entertaining. He has a very expressive face.

To this point I heard a rumor there is a new Dr. Who movie in the works.

I'd like to start watching some of the classic episodes on Netflix. Is there a specific order they need to be watched in, or can you skip around? I've watched all 5 seasons of the new series so far, so I at least have some background to work with.

I'm gathering opinions, hopefully they all agree!

You can skip around, it won't affect it too much, but like the current incarnation, each Doctor has his own personality and companions come and go, so the story is easy to pick up, but the companions and the Doctor may take getting used to.

The old series never dwelled on the companions back-story anywhere near as much as the new-who does, so aside from their arrival and departure, there isn't much in the way of continuity (for the most part - Davidson era had a companion who had an arc).
