I just finished the revised Reborn (went back and picked it up after reading ahead on the timeline), and I recognized a familiar list in the back - The Secret History list. After the "Dat Tay Vao" mention at the end of the revised Reborn, I saw the triple asterisk indicating that it was included in the reissued version of The Touch.

I was under the impression that the reissue of Nightworld would be a must-have, and the rest of the Adversary revisions were fairly minor, fixes on dates and technology issues. So.. crap. I just bought the old version of The Touch last week. How much of this about Dat Tay Vao am I going to miss out on? How necessary is it to buy this book yet again to get the revised content?

To be quite honest with you all, I read Sibs last week because it was on the Secret History list and it barely touched on anything RJ or Adversary other than a few mentions of places and events. I'm in the meat and potatoes of the thing now and Sibs was a decided slowing of forward progression. Don't get me wrong, it's the kind of book that I really enjoy, but I'm pretty sure that from here on out, I'll be all RJ/Adversary according to the timeline until I've exhausted everything, and then I'll pick up the peripheral books at random while I wait for the final revision of Nightworld.

"Dat Tay Vao" is the short story that inspired The Touch. I don't remember a lot about the short story, but I believe it's more a prequel to The Touch and isn't necessary to enjoy The Adversary Cycle. As for the revision of The Touch its just, pardon the pun, touch-ups.
