...wasn't such a big deal in my neck of the Jersey Shore. I don't want to minimize the damage done, but I've been through nor'easters that did lots more damage. Dawn broke wet and windy but that's about it. The lights flickered but never went out. No downed trees in sight. I'd like to check out the beach but they've closed the damn roads. The triffids did fine. (Everyone here thinks they're some weird kind of succulent.) A few more hours of wind and rain and she'll be history here.

My store (B&N 86th & Lex) closed last Saturday and Sunday. Disaster was looming! Not hardly. I didn't mind the time off, but I do miss the void in my paycheck.

I asked store manager Jody, "Boss, why can't we open with bold volunteers?"
He said, "Blues, it's from Corporate. I can't do anything about it. I would. And a 27-year man would too. Thanks."
(I need money, Boss...)
