Ok, so I have been hoarding all Secret Histories books/stories but cannot seem to get my hands on "The Long Way Home" short story. Is it in the anthology "Dark at Heart"?. . .Or, from where can it be downloaded?I haven't had any luck with Amazon Shorts. Any help would be greatly appreciated as this is the only missing link in my collection, and I really am ready to read everything as outlined.

I'm just guessing (I'm basically just too lazy to look it up right now!) but I would think it's in the forthcoming Quick Fixes anthology. I remember reading that this Repairman Jack shorts collection was due to go to print sometime at the end of last month so it's probably imminent.
(Although I believe it's already available in an e-book format.)

"I handed in the new RJ novel with the
working title, BY THE SWORD. David says the sales force loved the title at the
pre Turkey-Day sales meeting, so that's what it will be. That means Paul Ramplin
gets a credit line in the acknowledgments.

Welcome to the board! Smile Here is a complete list of the collections "The Long Way Home" has appeared in. As the others note, the only current way to get it is to purchase Quick Fixes for Kindle. Quick Fixes will also be out in paper form sometime this fall.

"The Long Way Home" (short story) (Repairman Jack)
for DARK AT HEART (400 s/n copies – Dark Harvest 1992)
in Amazon Shorts (August 2005)

in HANDYMAN JACK (German – Festa)
in QUICK FIXES (Kindle/Createspace 2011)

Thanks for the feedback; I'll either order Dark at Heart or just wait for Quick Fixes. I'm old fashioned, so I stay away from the kindle, but thhanks just the same.

At the risk of heading off-topic, will the proper book-type release of Quick Fixes be available over here in Sunny England? Or is it a limited release Over There? I don't want to get too excited if I'm going to be denied at the last minute!

I believe it'll be in the same category as The Peabody-Ozymandias Traveling Circus & Oddity Emporium and Draculas. So, if you can get paper copies of those books off of Amazon, you're okay.

Well I definitely bought Draculas from Amazon but I can't remember where I got the Peabody Ozymanias book. I'll just keep my eyes peeled.
Thanks.

The Peabody book rocked, but if you can get a copy of Freak Show, I'd recommend you do so. One of the best short story anthologies I've ever read.
