The only things I need to know about the show is that it is created by David Simon, features a heavy dose of New Orleans music and Season 1 is being rerun in its entirety over the next three nights on HBO prior to the premiere of Season 2 this weekend. Can't wait.

The only things I need to know about the show is that it is created by David Simon, features a heavy dose of New Orleans music and Season 1 is being rerun in its entirety over the next three nights on HBO prior to the premiere of Season 2 this weekend. Can't wait.

Halfway through the first season and so far, so good. It has many of the same features, great writing and acting, that made The Wire so excellent, but it is not quite on the same level as it. The music is kick ass and there have already been many cameos by musicians like Dr. John, Steve Earle, Trombone Shorty, Kermit Ruffins, Allen Toussaint and I'm sure others I don't recognize.
