Mr Osala Wrote:I have a question for everyone, My memories of the film are not so good as it was years ago that I watched it, I know it has a rep for being really bad, but I wondered--If it wasn't based on a book, was a separate entity, would it still be seen as bad?
Or is the rep of the film coloured by the fact that it is based on a great book and translated badly to the screen by the director?
I believe there is a pretty good trend on this board.
The ones that watched the movie first liked the movie, but adore the book.
The ones that read the book and watched the movie second, hate the movie, but still adore the book.
There is a pattern with adoring the book when it's been read first and hating the movie. And the only pattern for liking the movie is because they haven't read the book first.
