The Keep Mentioned as one of Top 15 movies not on DVD - jjmcculloch - 02-12-2011 One of my favorite sites is Listverse; they recently posted the Top 15 movies not on DVD...the Keep got mentioned. While nowhere near as good as the book, I did enjoy it in cheesy/fun sort of way. You can read the article here: http://listverse.com/2011/02/11/top-15-movies-you-cant-find-on-dvd/ I know Midnight Mass was made into a low budget (and painful) flick. What other FPW works were made into movies? JM The Keep Mentioned as one of Top 15 movies not on DVD - Brian - 02-12-2011 They called the movie, The Keep a top movie? I'm amazed. I know there is a DVD of 3 or 4 adaptations of short stories by FPW, but the one other that comes to mind is, Pelts. It was part of a horror series done on Showtime. I'm amazed.Only because of its connection to someone now considered a major director. The Keep Mentioned as one of Top 15 movies not on DVD - madh0us3 - 02-13-2011 I haven't seen it, but I'm surprised because what I've read about the movie wasn't very good. I'm going to watch it soon though (it's on instant streaming on Netflix) especially since I read as many horrible reviews of Midnight Mass, and I actually enjoyed that movie. It's rare that I have the same opinion of movie reviewers. The Keep Mentioned as one of Top 15 movies not on DVD - Mr Osala - 03-01-2011 I have a question for everyone, My memories of the film are not so good as it was years ago that I watched it, I know it has a rep for being really bad, but I wondered--If it wasn't based on a book, was a seperate entity, would it still be seen as bad? Or is the rep of the film coloured by the fact that it is based on a great book and translated badly to the screen by the director? Having just recently rewatched it I can say that the film was terrible either way. Of course, the fact thaat it butchered a beloved story didn't help its cause any, but even if it hadn't I still wouldn't have liked it. Ok....parts of the film are hokey....the acting was bad in spots.....and once you read the book...The Keep....you see where the film should have gone. I know I'm in the minority....but I still like the film. |
