Gemmell is one of my all time favorites. Right up there with FPW. Completely different genre of writing though. His untimely death made me very sad, he was working on the last book in his trilogy about Troy when he passed and his wife, Stella finished the book using his notes. The ending scene in the last book, written by Stella is, to me, an obvious goodbye to David. Brought a tear to my eye.

Nobody, and I mean NOBODY, could write heroic fantasy/fiction like Gemmell.
