It's a Wonderful Life

The Bishop's Wife (the original with Cary Grant not that HORRID remake with Denzel)

Merry Christmas Mr. Bean (watched it last night)

Sherlock Holmes' The Cardboard Box and The Blue Carbuncle. Not really "Christmas" shows but they take place during Christmas time and are great to watch. I watched The Cardboard Box two nights ago.

Second that. We also watched the Mr. Bean special last night (I love the Dalek in the nativity scene), and we watch The Blue Carbuncle every year at Christmas.

Some other favorites off the top of my head:

The Alistair Sims A CHRISTMAS CAROL is great, and very spooky - it reminds you that ghost stories were an integral part of the Christmas tradition until recently. Sims also voiced Scrooge in the 1973 animated version that appeared on ABC - it's hard to find but incredibly moody and beautifully animated, based on Victorian steel engravings. I also like the George C. Scott version - Scott was a formidably tough Scrooge.

The BLACKADDER CHRISTMAS special (also with Rowan Atkinson) is hysterical.

LETHAL WEAPON - cheesy but fun, and the only Christmas movie with Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Capoeira, and 52 Blocks in it.

THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING - originally came out at Christmas, and per Tolkien, the Fellowship left Rivendale on Christmas day.

ARTHUR'S PERFECT CHRISTMAS - My kids are almost too old to watch this, but I still enjoy it - the lesson being to take Christmas as it comes and don't try to make everything just the way you think it should be.

THE HOMECOMING - the pilot of The Waltons - this captured the feel of the Great Depression for me better than the series did.

LOVE ACTUALLY - I always enjoy this. It even has a Rowan Atkinson cameo.

THE JOHNNY CASH CHRISTMAS SPECIALS - I grew up watching these and bought them on DVD. Some amazing talent, both country and rock.

We have a bunch of TV series DVD sets - the favorite Xmas episodes:

BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER - "Amends"

MILLENNIUM - "Midnight of the Century" - really a tear-jerker, and a great performance by Darren McGavin as Frank's dad (and of course, his other great performance as a Xmas dad being A CHRISTMAS STORY).

BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES - "Holiday Knights" and "Christmas with the Joker"

HOUSE - "Stigmata" and "Depression"

"Flow with the Go."

Yes!! How could I forget that gem? I don't think I have a copy at home, may have to start a search for one. I am sure the kids would love that one, (as well as me loving that isBig Grin).

There are only three that I watch every year.

"Miracle On 34th Street", which I usually watch on the day after Thanksgiving. And it's the original version with Natalie Wood, Maureen O'Hara, etc.

"It's a Wonderful Life", which is (to me) the quintessential Christmas movie.

"A Christmas Carol". I vacillate. I love the Alistair Sims version, but like the George C. Scott, the Patrick Stewart, and the musical version with Kelsey Grammer.

There's a version of 'A Christmas Carol' that first aired on UK TV in 2000 (IMDb link). It is a modern day setting and I try to catch it every time it is on. It is very much 'British' and probably not to everyone's taste.
Do you guys see a Brit soap 'Eastenders'? If you like that, you may like this version. It even has one of the old Eastender's cast, Ross Kemp, as loan-shark Eddie Scrooge.

It's never really the Christmas season to me until I've seen "National Lampoons Christmas Vacation".

Christmas musts:
-Elf
-Santa Clause the Movie (with Dudley Moore)
-National Lampoon
-A Christmas Story

I loved Emmett Otter as a kid, haven't seen it in ages. I might add Bad Santa to the list, we watched it last year and were sufficiently creeped out to consider watching it again this year if we can find it. Scrooged is also a classic in my mind, and I don't pass up a chance to watch it when it's on, though it isn't on my "Must" list.
