I found this article which gives an "ultimate theory" for LOST which I think is pretty good. Now I'm going to have to go back and watch ALL SIX seasons over again with this theory in mind.

Wow, great link, thanks for that. I always knew the secret of the Island was about time, but I never laid it out for myself as the writer of the link does so beautifully, and in such detail. I've had many of those thoughts and observations about the characters, their stories, their interactions with one another and with the Island, loosely held and floating around inside my head. However, I didn't connect the dots as he has. Very cool.

I particularly like his summation of the Dharma initiative, why they are on the Island and what happened to them once there. I really enjoyed his explanation of the manic button pushing we saw throughout the show, the 108 minutes, and time needing to catch up with itself. Phew, heady stuff and great food for thought.

There were so many mysteries, big and small, that I just let go 'cause I couldn't REALLY explain them. Like the pregnant women dying on the Island. If you look at that mystery through the lens of time, I can sort of grasp why they would die. Wait...I just started explaining the pregnant women dying business and then tripped over myself. The Dharma women could have babies, but not Ben's clan, who moved in after he killed the DI. Time doesn't really help me there. Hmm.....

I love LOST. I love that I don't understand all of it. I love that I can continue to mull it over and look at it from this angle, then that angle, then turn it upside down and inside out and see it from yet another perspective. Each time I look, I see a little more. I do believe LOST is everything the writer in the link said it was.

Loved the link. There were two good theories posted by eric that I read and enjoyed. He followed the common trail believed by many Losties to be the correct theory behind LOST's complexities--that of TIME as a manifestation of the Island/Jacob/MiB. These articles, although not thorough, gave me more closure than any "character driven" drivel spewed by the "emotive" fans of the LOST ending.

Yeah, I even tried spewing some of that drivel (to) myself. But I wasn't buying what I was selling. LOL. This theory helped me clarify things (even if not a certainty) quite a bit.

Yeah, I really like this theory, though I don't know if/how it explains every single little question. But mostly I haven't thought too deeply about it. I did have a slightly sour taste in my mouth after the finale though, and this seems to have completely gotten rid of that. So, now I'm content.

With the LOST box set at $ 148.99 on Amazon being released on 8/24, it might be worth a wait for a drop further in price. Watching again with the time theory in mind, I wonder how differently I'll view things. Only time will tell. LOL

Hey Jim, I never lived down under, though I'd love to. If I could take my job and plop it in the antipodes, I'd be there in a heart beat. I had 2 longish, lovely visits with Liam in Australia in 2009, and Liam came to NYC for a longish, lovely visit in 2010. He'll be returning in a matter of days. Can't wait!

I'm looking forward to the time, if, indeed, it ever comes, when Lindelof and Cuse break their radio silence and start talking about the finale.

In the meantime, I'm happy with my own take on the show, and for sure I will watch it again when the new set is out. And then again when we get our Christmas gift of a big fancy pants TV. And then again next year, 'cause I just got to. And then again.....

We finally got to watch the final season when the DVDs came out. Overall, both Sig and I agreed that the last two seasons did not live up to the first four. The final season seemed rushed and while we both "got the meaning" of the ending it was just so lackluster that it didn't have much of an impact.

I know Sig and I both talked about it and neither of us were all that interested in Richard, Jacob, and the man in black and that storyline. It didn't add anything to the overall LOST story and the Heart of the Island was just silly. Like Hitler said "A tub stopper"?! Come on now.

Just now LOST the final season finished in Japan!

Oh.....what a long long story! I wanna talk about it a lot, but now my heart is full.

Did you feel let down, Kenji? It was lacking for me.

I've truly lost interest in LOST. It's over, I didn't like their explaination and I've moved on.
