That episode in Season 5 is called "This Place is Death," which, at the time, seemed to be just about Charlotte's death. But when she yelled in Korean and then died not long after, it was spooky.

Years ago my mother used to say to me... "In this world, Elwood, you can be oh so smart or oh so pleasant."
Well, for years I was smart.
I recommend pleasant.

I was really looking forward to this episode, and I have to say I was sort of let down. It left me more puzzled really then anything. So we found out how FDW was going to be put it...but then it doesn't happen(so who puts it in really?) and we find out who Adam and Eve were. Other than that I am just puzzled. Jacob was the one who believed what their fake mother told them about people being evil, yet hes the one trying to prove to MIB(really we couldn't get a name this episode? Really? All we get is that the mother only thought of one name???) that people can be good? MIB seems to not care and knows that the people are bad he just wants off the island.

Last is MIB actually Jacobs brother? His brother is dead, did the smoke monster just get released due to Jacob throwing his brothers body in the light? And as a dead person could take the role of Jacob's brother? Or was the fake mother possibly the smoke monster? MIB seemed to kill her with the same knife that MIB gives to Alpert to kill Jacob and the same knife Dogan gives to Sayid to kill Flocke. Also how else would she alone wipe out the others village and fill the well that the FDW was going in at?

Damn the fake mother for being right "Every question will result in another question." Damn you lost.

I am soooo confused.....

Last night's episode answered a few questions....and then gave me a whole bunch more.

Ok...who saw that MIB and Jacob were twins?
And yes.....you can't give MIB a name? Really? Confusedquigglemouth:
So...if the brothers can't kill the other...Jacob sent MIB down the river..snicker....to his death in the light.
So now we have a smoke monster from MIB that can't kill Jacob. I'm gonna have to watch it again.....I know I missed something.

The more I think about this episode the more I feel it was just Darlton trying so hard to prove that they had this planned from the beginning. I really don't think they had it as planned out as they want it to be believed.

Some of it...sure.
But now we have more questions than answers. I know not everything can be answered. To say I'm lost on LOST at the moment...says it all. lol

I don't really want everything answered, but to bring up just more questions when we only have 2 episodes left just sucks. I think they said it all with what the mother said about questions bringing up more questions. Theyre almost saying "what can we do?"

For a while we have been wondering how Jacob and MIB get there. To answer that they bring up another nameless women(many are calling mother nature) to answer a question we had they bring up another question.

I'm just more confused with the smoke monster then I was before. Before I was just happy thinking that MIB was smokey, I think this episode just made it more puzzling.

At the very beginning of the episode. The real mom was speaking Spanish...the other was speaking.....Egyptian?

Yeah I think I'm more confused now than before that episode. Before the episode, I was convinced that the smoke monster WAS the MIB. Now, I'm not sure at all. It seems almost as if the smoke monster took advantage of a dead body (just as it did with Christian and Locke) to assume the form of the MIB. I say this b/c just like Christian and Locke, we have the real body of the MIB separate from the smoke monster thing.

That doesn't really jive up with what Flocke has been spouting about (that he used to be a man, his mom went crazy, etc.). But maybe he's just trying to make people believe he actually was a man at one point.

I hope they clarify this before it's over. Or that one of our resident Lost experts here can give a convincing explanation for me. Big Grin

The only thing I am thinking right now is that maybe when MIB was sent down the well, that the light and his sin, or sould or whatever sort of fused and became smokey. He can take the form of dead people on the island and he took the form of his body that he is most familiar with. So then I think MIB became the light that was in the tunnel and he is now what Jacob has to protect and has to keep on the island.

:confused::confused::confused::confused: :cryin: So confused.

Right. I guess I can't discount that possibility. Although the MIB did not seem like a person that would willy-nilly kill everybody in sight. And the smoke monster does. Yes, the MIB killed his "mother" but well she did try to kill him first.

I had not thought about the point you made earlier about how the whole village got wiped out and how the well got filled up / destroyed. That has me confused also.
