I just got "Them" from the library. It's a French film made in 2007 and it seems in the same vein as "The Strangers". They originally gave me "Them" a 50s sci-fi movie about giant ants or something. That sounds up FPW's alley, but not so much for me.

They passed an old woman who was just opening the door of a brown Cadillac. An old man was already sitting in the passenger seat. The car had a personalized plate with the letters “J-U-S-P-R-A-Y”.
“That stuff work?” Israel said to her.
“‘Scuse me?” the little old woman said, clutching her keys.
“The spray. Does it keep them away?”
“Keep who away?” She looked confused.
“I gotcha.” Israel gave her a conspiratorial wink.

I just re-watched The Manitou. That was 1980 Tony Curtis. Scared the crap out of me as a kid, but now.... I do enjoy Graham Masterton's older work.

I also just watched Red Mist. Somewhat a medical thriller with a supernatural twist. Fairly creepy.

Red Mist, what's that, the new Mtn Dew?

THEM was a great film. Definitely in the same vein as The Strangers. You could have better luck searching for "Ils" the French name of the film.

It was creepy and though allegedly "based on true events" I could not find any news stories indicating this was the case.

Add "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra". It is hillarious and an homage to 50's horror/sci-fi films. Great horrible special effects, campy dialogue and the film seems to genuinely love the movies it is parodying.

Check out The House of the Devil. Just came out this year but definitely an homage to older horror movies and not too bad.

Well, if you want to re-visit some goodies I suggest...

The Car (I still want to own that damned vehicle - pun intended)
No Time for Sergeants or They Live (gotta have a comedy in there somewhere)
Wanted Dead or Alive (Rutger Hauer)
Dark City
Cube

Or try...

Narc
Feast

Below (one of my favorite thrillers)
Breaking News (Hong Kong film. Surprisingly damn good)

"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it." - Agent K

I saw it. The library just made a boo-boo was all. Very unsettling. I think The Strangers may be the American remake of Them.
